Dr. Teri is a philanthropreneur, health advisor and wellness coach specializing in women’s health, cancer prevention and lifestyle medicine. She lives by and shares her mantra: “Master the P’s of life: Master your peace, purpose and pleasure by putting your health first.” Her life work and dedication to health and wellness centers around her personal journey and professional passion.
She graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Biological Sciences- Molecular Biology Track and MARC Honors Program. In May of 2006, Dr. Teri completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis in cancer biology at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Her published dissertation research focused on the role of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and metastatic indicators in breast cancer metastatic disease. She has received health and wellness coaching training to further her skills to help improve the well-being and healthy lifestyle of individuals especially women and girls. Throughout her graduate and post-graduate career, Dr. Teri has devoted her time and talents mentoring and teaching high school, undergraduate and graduate students in STEM programs
Under her company TLL Consulting Group, LLC., she builds alliances and partnerships; conducts strategic planning and think tanks; wellness coaching; and handles logistical project management for individuals, businesses, health-related organizations and events. She has birthed and assisted in the development of teen and women non-profit organizations and served on their executive boards and leadership teams including Edify Teens Ministries, My Style Matters, Teens Helping Other People and Women Empowering Women.
Since October 2013, Dr. Teri has improved the well-being and health of women through the Women’s Health HERstory (WHH), a community-based platform which she founded to honor the life and legacy of her paternal grandmother who died from breast cancer. WHH empowers women to become champions of their own health and loved ones by offering educational forums, resources, supplements health care navigation, wellness tips, and professional and peer support.
Dr. Teri works with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where she provides consultation for cancer prevention programs, and advises communication and wellness activities.
During her “me-time and spare time, she enjoys traveling the wonders and beaches of the world, fierce funk dance aerobic classes at the YMCA, outdoor adventures and being creative through writing poetry and quotes and making crafts and decor for family, friends and events.
